History

In 2011, Catholic Charities worked with the non-profit leadership development program called AZ LeaderForce to embark on a mission to develop a consistent revenue stream to support its mission. Inspired by a coffee resell program in Colorado, they launched The Refuge Coffee, in Phoenix, Ariz, and set out to become one of the best proprietary coffee blends.

The first batch was roasted, packaged and distributed locally in Fall 2012 and sold to friends and family members. Today, it's grown to three product lines: The Refuge Coffee premium coffee roast made from 100% Arabica coffee beans; The Refuge Coffee Especial which is our unique ground coffee blend; and Café Esperanza Tea which is a variety of premium loose leaf from around the world. All products are custom roasted/prepared in micro batches to maintain the highest quality and freshness. The Refuge Coffee is now available at multiple retailers and café's throughout the Valley.

We hope coffee and tea lovers will enjoy this great brew and their opportunity to support the local community. Help us build a better Arizona, one cup at a time!
